![]() I consider this hotel in my top three favorites.and I've frequented a lot of hotels. All in all, my two night stay was very relaxing and most enjoyable! I will be returning to San Diego, again, to complete some business and I wouldn't stay any where else, unless Hotel Indigo is full. After a great Thai dinner, I visited the hotel's 9th floor outdoor lounge and watched the live baseball game.live and inprogress! The view was awesome! The entire field is visable, with the exception of 3rd plate.LOL. Checkin felt like visiting old friends! They were so nice and sincerely friendly! My room was a welcome surprize, spacious and well appointed! The shower was the size of a walkin closet! Remember to call the front desk for the Wifi password!!! There are several good restaurants within a 1 to 5 minute casual walk. How come only those two With the convention crowd not currenly around and not as many tourists as normal Downtown specifically in the Gaslamp. Both are good choices, Indigo location is probably slightly better for the bars and restaurants in the Gaslamp. The other valet removed my bags from the trunk. Re: Kimpton Palomar or Hotel Indigo 2 years ago. There are good restaurants nearby as is a Von's grocery store. As I pulled up, in front of the hotel, I was acknowledged by two hotel staff, one checked in my vehicle (parking is at a premium in Gas Light district and ball park areas, so valet parking is the only option, unless you choose public parking a few blocks away). This hotel is less than half an hour from both the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Safari Park, so it’s a perfect location to stay if you plan to visit both parks. Walking out from the hotel grounds just two blocks away is an access point for Sea Cliff Coastal Trail, a bluff top walking path. The hotel has a guest laundry with coin operated washers and dryers, which is very useful for longer stays. There is also a separate console containing a small cube refrigerator and a Keurig coffee maker on a pull out tray. The bathroom sink console had enough counter space and had additional space down below it to stash more things. There is plenty of space to put your stuff away and plenty of charging outlets, both on the night table and in a shelf within the large dresser. ![]() The room itself is extremely well designed. Nearby was a convenient large trash can so clean up from our picnics was easy. We got takeout and ate here several nights. In front of our room was a courtyard patio with picnic tables. There is a ceiling fan, and the large, west facing windows keep the room bright and cheerful during the day. It was very quiet even though we kept the windows open. Lovely well managed property! We stayed in the North Building, in room 507, a large double room with a shared balcony and a faraway peek at the ocean.
